Bees & Their Stingers?

I was pretty excited this morning, as my friend, Vicki, and her husband, Doug, were coming today to visit for the Civic Holiday Weekend with us.  It is a great to have them here for a few days here and there in the Summer/Fall months.

This morning when I was out and about I came face to face with a Blue Heron standing in a swampy area at the side of the road.  By the time I had stopped, got my camera out, and backed up, he took one more look at me and ....

.... spread his wings, dangled his gangly legs and took flight.  Still I had been happy I had spotted him.

Doug and Vicki arrived this afternoon.  Rob got to see them on and off between going out on calls.  At least when we had Dinner together he had no calls while we ate (that was a change), so that ended up being quite enjoyable as we ate our Steaks, Baked Potatoes and Caesar Salands.

A couple weeks ago I had ordered a Phone Case for my iphone, and today it arrived via UPS.

I am extremely pleased with the case I had ordered through Vistaprint for 50% savings sale they had on.  Custom made with a photo of our Bandit & Lexus.

Today I had the displeasure of walking to the laundry line and stepping on a Bee.  The searing pain was unbelievable !!!  and from just a bee sting.   Can you believe the size of that barb?  Rob came to my rescue with the tweezers.  Even though it is still slightly swollen, I am forever grateful I am not allergic to Bees.  Do Bees die after they use their stingers?  you can find out by going HERE.  And I was jumping around too much after being stung to notice what kind of bee it had been.  Who knew Bees & their stingers could inflict that much pain?

After Dinner Doug helped Rob put the awning back in on our RV, as they were taking it down to the Dumping Station at Bluewater Park to pump the septic out.  Unfortunately for us the previous owners had not done this before storing it last Winter, and there had been a very unpleasant smell lingering that I wanted gone before sleeping in it.

Doug's had RV Motorhomes and 5th Wheel Trailers for years, so he has been very helpful with showing Rob some of the ins and outs that Rob didn't already know.  Friends are great, are they not?

I am looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings, hopefully getting some time for Vicki and I to hang out on our own without the guys, which we usually manage to do with no problem.  Also hoping the weather is great as we also love going to Garage Sales.  Not to mention the 77th Annual Rotary Village Fair starts tomorrow in Wiarton's Bluewater Park.

Yes I am looking forward to having a great weekend ahead of me, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Homemade Goodness

I had a terrible night last night.  I am at a loss of what is going on with me lately since I had a pretty good run of being able to sleep more then usual the past couple of months.  It makes a long evening when you are laying in bed trying to fight off the pain, as I am more then certain so many people experience this, and some more then others unfortunately.

Rob slept not too bad, other then getting up once through the night.  I always usually speak to him when I am awake and he gets up.  I wonder if I have ever startled him when doing this?  I will have to ask him.

He just was called out on a run about 10 minutes before I had our Dinner done.  Never fails.

I did speak to my Auntie Gladys this morning, and she had mentioned Ice Cream or something might be also setting off my Gall Bladder, and truly I have been having at least one a week since Summer has began as I really really LOVE Ice Cream, however the fat in it would not be welcomed by my Gall Bladder.  It also comes to mind I had a Tim Horton's Vanilla Bean Ice Latte made with Chocolate Milk the other day which probably did not help matters any either.  Damn, damn, triple damn, why do we always have to cut out everything we LOVE ?

I am telling you nobody ever better tell me to cut out my hubby, or them will be fighting words !  Hahaha...

The Wiarton District Chamber of Commerce has hired an Office Manager.  This morning I had a meeting to go over some Social Networking with her.  It was a very pleasant and concrete meeting.  I like when I walk away from a meeting with the feeling something was accomplished by contributing or learning from it.

I had not arrived back home until almost 1 pm, and we headed  back downtown again to go to the bank and stop at Carquest to pay our account.  Always on the go about something or another.

I am pretty sure after 2:30 or so I had a tiny wee cap nap sitting up on the couch.  You know those ones where you are aware of the TV still going and sounds around you, but you are in a semi kind of sleep?  I remember thinking I had wished I could go into a really really deep sleep, but no that did not happen.

Maybe tonight, as after 5 pm Lexus and I went for a 3 km walk.  I had to force myself to go, but once again I was glad I did.

Since Dinner was ready and Rob had gone, and it was almost 7 pm, I ate Dinner by myself.  It was soooo GOOD, and lots leftover for Rob when he gets home, and then some.

For some reason Blogger is not allowing me to upload any photos this evening, so I will just have to share the link to the Homemade Cheesy Hamburger Helper Recipe that you may find by *clicking* HERE.  Let me know if you try it if you like it as much as we do, cause there is nothing quite like some Homemade Goodness, rather then something from out of a box.

It is almost 8 pm now, so I think I will take myself into the kitchen to clear the sink of dishes, then head off to a nice hot shower before a bit of TV or reading before I call it a night, hopefully towards a fitful sleep, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Really I Did That ???

As bad as I felt yesterday I still managed to go out with my neighbour last night for a 4 km walk.  I actually felt better for it believe it or not.  Today?  I felt better as the headaches were not as fierce, and the pains were down to a dull roar.

Rob had a rough day yesterday too, and was totally beat all day today.  The poor guy had a run all the way down to Kitchener last night, not getting back home until midnight, just getting nicely to sleep when he got called back out a 2 am.   Did our Mother's ever tell us there would be days like these?

I could not and did not sleep well again last night, however what I did do was watch the movie War Horse from 9 pm until 12 am.  What an awesome movie !  very much worth staying up to watch.  It came out in the movies three years ago.  A must watch if you have not seen.

Rob headed out this morning, and I just before him.  We were both Owen Sound bound.  I was to meet up with my friend, Sharon, to pick her up from her first physio appointment, as last Wednesday she had a partial knee replacement.  Another friend had dropped her off, and since I was going over to Owen Sound anyway it just made sense to pick her up, also giving me a good reason to have a nice visit with her afterwards.

Visits with good friends are always a nice thing to have happen.

Afterwards I went and treated myself to a hair cut.  I can not believe for someone who might have gotten their hair cut once a year actually having it cut within three months !  She thinned out the top a bit as it gets so heavy.  It feels good to have a good cut and get it cleaned up and a bit styled.  The hairdresser gave me a compliment about my natural waves, saying people are paying these days for what they call the "Beach Wave" !  Who would have thought I would have something natural that some would be paying to have one day???  Imagine that !!!

I got home around the lunch other, giving away to another lazy afternoon.  Not sure what is going on with me other then maybe the pain is wearing me out causing me to be so tired lately?  Oh well onward I go.

Later today I had Lexus and Bandit out for a good game of Fetch the Ball.

Bandit is starting to show his 9 years of age this Year, as Lexus has been running circles around him.

My "Pretty Girl" is 6 1/2 years old and showing no signs of slowing down.  I do love this girl to pieces with her energy, loving nature and antics.

It was in my mind last night that something was missing but I could not put a finger on it.   There had been a couple of fleeting thoughts about my camera, but I never put more mind to them.  Darn, darn, triple darn ... really did I do that????

Today it had poured rain like no tomorrow, and where had I left my camera last night?  Right out on the side table on the front stoop.  *Sigh* all I could think of was "Thank God I have full insurance on this one".  I dried it off and took some photos with it.  So far so good, so fingers and toes crossed.  Am I surprised I did this? the way I was feeling yesterday?  Not at all.

Rob got home late this evening.  Dinner was whatever either us could find to grab out of the fridge.  I had a few cheese and crackers.

I am thinking tomorrow I have a couple of things on my calendar, one being my oldest sister's Birthday.  I must not forget to call her first thing.  On that note I am going to call it a day and put my feet up here shortly, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Zilch

I have not been feeling well the past few days resulting from having been too busy, and the weather changes.  Things always catch up to me after awhile and I "Pay the Price of the Piper" as the old saying goes.

Between sinus pain, fibro  & neck pain and on the verge of a migraine all day, not too much other then the bed got made and the dishes done.  *Sad* state of affairs this day I am afraid to say.

Such is Life some days, however one does not have to like it, but one does have to accept it some times.

I hate being down and out.  Even if I hurt every day, I put on my "I am living life face" and go for it, as what else is one to do some days?  However there are just those days that get the better of us all, and enough is enough, and that has been one of those days.

Today I have nothing to offer myself in a way of a diary entry in my personal online journal other then a big fat "Zilch".  And some days "Zilch" is okay.

But I will leave myself with one of my favourite songs from days gone by .....

Lazy Dazy Sunday

Rob arrived home at 3:30 am, after being out making certain people who had attended a Wedding up on the Bruce Peninsula got back to where they were staying safely.  I had been awake with the pain in my right side and my back.

It seems like everything I eat lately upsets my tummy.  The Tecta meds the Doctor had prescribed do not seem to give much relieve at times.  No worries in 6 weeks time I will have one or two less pains then I already have.  The nice thing about it all is if I only require the Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery, there will only be an approximate 10 day recovery.  10% require full surgery, and I am thinking or hoping I will not be part of that 10% as that requires at least 6 weeks recovery time I believe.

When Rob had his Gall Bladder removed he was off work the full six weeks, despite having tghe Laproscopic surgery, however his type of work that time was very physical so I am sure the Doctor wanted him to take the extra precautions.

Today I was tired and Rob, naturally so, was tired.  I was not only tired, I was lazy as well.  All I did was one load of laundry and a few dishes.  I also went on a run from Southampton to Owen Sound and back home with Rob late this afternoon.

Once we had gotten back Rob was called out again.  Getting home the second time he dropped Buddy and I down at the Government Dock at Colpoy's Bay.  We walked home from there.

My Buddy boy & I only did 2 km from the Government Dock at Colpoy's Bay back up to Hwy. 6, however the ascent up that hill felt like an extra 2 km.  Both our tongues were hanging to our knees and the sweat was on our brows. Nice to have such a wonderful walking companion, as there hadn't been one complaint from either of us.  If only his social manners were as fantastic as his heeling manners, he would be the perfect dog, but we LOVE him for him.  Who couldn't love a face like that ?

Rob made us BBQ'd Turkey Burgers when I got back home.  Yum Yum, love me those turkey burgers.  Moist and full of flavour goodness.  Much more appealing to me then a regular Hamburger made with beef.

Last night around 10:30 pm we had quite the thunder banger and lightning show.  The rain had been coming down so hard you could hardly see through it.  Poor Bandit was shaking like a leaf.

It is now raining again as I type.  The reason for my headaches, however it smells nice and fresh.  Good thing the farmer who bought our standing Hay cut Wednesday, baled Friday and took it off early Saturday morning.

I think I am going to carry on with my lazy dazy Sunday right through the remainder of the evening, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Under The Weather

Yesterday I had been a bit under the weather feeling "off" with nausea and whatnot.  Today was very similar, actually waking up with pains in my front right hand side, chest and right hand side of my back below my kidney area.  The Gall Stones must be moving around and very unhappy the past while to cause such a disturbance within my body.

Feeling still the same, however with less nausea, thank goodness.

This morning I had given my word we would be somewhere at 9 am, and at 9 am Rob and I had been there to check out ....

This "red liver" tri Aussie girl, who is 5 weeks old, born June 17th, 2014.  Rob obviously had my camera.  I included the middle photo as for some reason the camera lens must have "screwed up" making me appear very thin, so I could not pass up the opportunity of taking advantage of the shot ... hahaha !

Well it appears I am going to be busier then busy in a short couple of weeks.  Rob choose Portia as a name for this little girl.  Does she look to be a Portia to you?  Bandit will be helping me house train her I am sure, and Lexus will help me wear her out by running circles around her, and hopefully down the road late next Year, her and Buddy will give us some lovely puppies (we are still hoping for just one more litter from Lexus and Bandit, fingers and toes crossed).

Thanks goodness I have made arrangements to have help with Portia when I go in on September 2nd to have my Gall Bladder removed, which is a huge relief.

We got back home and I went back to bed.  Do you not just hate when you are feeling that uncomfortable you can not sleep? or even rest for that matter?  I finally got up, called my friend, Pari, and we went for a walk late this afternoon.

Rob hopefully is on his way home.  It is 7:32 and we still haven't had any Dinner.  He is going to BBQ a Turkey Burger for me and some hot dogs for him when he does arrive.

I just got in from throwing ball off the front stoop for Bandit and Lexus.  They are very quiet as they are both pooped out.  It is also almost time for me to take Buddy out for his usual walk around the premises before bedtime in an hour's time.

Hopefully the Gall Stones settle, and I get caught up on my rest this evening to be good to go tomorrow, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Crabby Or Busy ?

Shall I be calling my Rob Crabby or Busy, as in Crabby Cabbie or Busy Cabbie, as he most certainly was busy today.  It began at 4 am, and ended about 20 minutes ago when he sat down (we will see for how long that lasts for).

Me? of course I am always busy, hopefully more busy in "action" then classed as a "busy body".  I am pretty much usually too busy with my own life and interests then to be concerned too much with what is going on in someone else's life.

Once everyone was up and at it, we headed on downtown Wiarton to check out the Farmer's Market.

Some Chipotle BBQ Sauce was purchased from my friend Abby, by Paul & Liz, as Chloe LOVES BBQ Sauce.  After Market we headed up the street to Lloyd's Smoke Shop where we all had a Homemade Kiddie Ice Cream Cone (it was almost 11 am you know) before we checked out a few downtown stores and shops.

After our browsing was over, the girls and I headed over to Gateway Haven to wait for Paul and Liz to follow after picking up Grandma some Gladiolas as a "surprise" ... she LOVES Red Glads, as that is what my dad used to get her every Year (or so I had been told).

We surprised Mom when she was exciting the bathroom.  Of course a photo of Paul and Grandma was required.  Ha ! as Grandma was heading down to the Dining Room for her lunch, while we were walking her down before we left, she had to feel Paul's muscles.  This was always required of Grandma by Paul when he was growing up.  Funny thing now is Aiden has followed with the same asking me to see how big his muscles are !  way too cute.

We next headed over to the Government Dock at Colpoy's Bay ...

The girls checked out the water discovering it was a tad on the chilly side.  My sister Jeanne, and hubby, Cecil, had been over there trying their hand at fishing.  They got to meet Liz and the girls, and also had not seen Paul for at least 7 years, so it was all good.

The kids all left after lunch, by 1 pm, as they had to be home for when Josh got home from the week of Camp he had been at.

Late this afternoon Rob and I were having a very rare sit down together on the side deck when a bird that I had observed gathering nesting materials earlier today had came along again. It had not been at all shy.

Checking with my friend, Cathy, on Facebook, I was to learn it was indeed a Cedar Waxwing.  These photos do not do it's colours justice however.  It is a very beautiful almost golden bird with black, yellow and red markings.  Check it out HERE.

It had been very amusing to watch him/her gather nesting materials.  However I am not too certain why they are building a next in one of our big Red Maples at this time of Year?

Rob and I had a very quick Dinner of leftover salads, chicken and rib then headed out to pickup my car from the garage.  We have been "not too crabby", but "very busy" today, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

More Kids !

More kids !  I was very excited today as Paul, Liz and the girls, Chloe and Briar, were coming up today for a visit with us.   They were not to arrive until almost Dinner time, so there was lots to do before they arrived.

I boiled potatoes and eggs for Potato Egg Salad, cleaned the spare bedroom up, and a number of other little things that always need doing, along with a load of laundry.

I cleaned out a whole drawer of old bills from over 2 years ago.  Love having a burn barrel, as it makes less garbage and it is easy to dispose of private papers no longer required.

The kids arrived and  Mercedes is here for a visit with us too !  She was very happy to see us.

After Dinner of Ribs, Chicken, Salads and rolls, the girls wanted to have a tour of the RV Motorhome.  They were very very excited.

With everybody "on board" we got to go for our first ride up the Hwy to the Handicraft House and back.  It sure was different and will take some getting used of on my part.  Rob was in his comfort zone having had his "B" license when driving School Bus and then drove Snow Plow for the Townships, so he is used to big vehicles.

After our ride we headed on down to Bluewater Park where the girls had some fun.

Photos were also taken with the Wiarton Willie Statue, the Exercise Equipment was tried out with a few laughs, and Chloe even walked Bandit a bit for me.

We got home before the Sun was down as it had really cooled off and the bugs had been biting.

Liz had brought me a bouquet of Sunflowers.  Sunflowers are one of my most favourite Flowers.  Are they not lovely?

The kids are staying until at least lunchtime tomorrow, so we might be heading down to the Wiarton Farmer's Market in the morning.

I am tired and going to be heading off to bed very shortly, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Home, Parked & Ready To Go !

Today I was planning on having company come for lunch.  Really not company, but family, family we do not get to see as often as we would like.  Two Grandsons and a Daughter that live further down South on Lake Huron.

Rob's daughter, Sarah, and her two boys Chase and Greyson are cottaging not too far from us, and made today the day to come have a visit with Rob and I.  We had a great lunch together !  The boys are quite entertaining, more so Greyson who is five years old and quite the "ham", and Chase, more the social one, who is ten years old.

After lunch I went up with them to show them the "other" side of Berford Lake at the public park.

I suppose Sarah and I had spent too much time catching up on our visit, as I only got a photo of her walking away, missing out on her very beautiful face.  The boys had themselves a bit of fun.

Not sure if we will see them again before they head back home after their week of holidays, however Sarah and I do keep in touch from time to time by phone, and of course I get to see what photos of the boys she posts to her Facebook Page.  I enjoy keeping up with Chase's soccer progress, and just heard was a great goalie he is !  Greyson, I believe, will be joining a team next year.

Late this afternoon  the farmer who purchases our "standing" hay fields which surround our house, dropped by to get it cut.

The field to the East of us was quite thick and tall, while the one to the South and West was thick, but not as tall.  It should be all baled by Friday is his plan.  Bandit and Lexus will have their annual Bale jumping fun ... photos to follow that day.

Yes Rob has scrimped and saved for some time, and this was actually the "rig" he drove home to our place late yesterday afternoon.  Thank goodness gasoline prices had been down 10 cents from last month !!!

Yes he was in his glory driving home in the 1991 Citation 37 foot RV Motorhome.  It must have been just like having his Bus License still while driving 37 feet of vehicle.  After our Dinner we decided to take some photos .... since she is home, parked and ready to go (almost).

Rob decided to capture myself and Bandit opening it up to make our entry.  Bandit LOVES it, as we haven't had a travel trailer for a couple of years now.  Yes Bandit does love camping as much as I do !

Up front where the driver and co-pilot would sit (not certain if that will be me or Bandit yet).  Heading towards the back through the kitchen/dining area down the hallway leading to the back bedroom where there is a Queen size bed, along with lots of closet/cupboard space and a privacy door.

Heading back up to the front, stopping along the way to look into the 4 pc washroom.  Before the dining area there is hall closet.

Yes, at the end of the hallway, coming from the bedroom is a bit more cupboard space as Rob and Bandit discovered.  Up front the co-pilot's seat swivels around facing the seat directly behind creating more dining space (great space for the grandkids I thought).

Now that it is home and parked in our driveway, we will have us some fun pretending we are camping out in some really neat far away places.  Time to start saving again so hopefully next Year we will actually be able to get away for at least 1 week.  Would that not be nice? that is the plan.

Today I had quite a bit Gall Bladder discomfort, almost thinking it was going to turn into an attack.  I took it easy sitting for awhile and it finally passed.  I was happy for that as I was not relishing heading up to the hospital to get something prescribed for the pain, as I do not think my regular pain meds might not have done the trick otherwise.

Yes it has been another busy day behind me, and tomorrow? oh it is even going to be busier then today was I am afraid.

Funny thing this morning while I was picking up a couple of items at our local Foodland store, I passed a lovely  acquaintance who, after I had said "hello", said, "you are on the run again".  Really I must look like I am always on the go, which truly if I wasn't most of the time I know I would surely cease up .... I think a week away would do both Rob and I a World of good.

That is all she wrote, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Never Home Nothing Done

My husband has had me much occupied the last couple of days to the point where what I wanted to get accomplished never got past a "thought".   When one is never home, there is nothing done.

Do not get me wrong, as I absolutely LOVE spending time with my husband, and when he is not around I tend to miss him more then not.  This is how best friends usually are with each other, yes?

Last night we chased a Sunset together ....

.... today we chased a dream.

Gone last evening until late, and gone all day today not arriving home until 5:30 pm, I had time for a quick shower to head out the door again to take some photos for a good friend who was one of three hosting a fund raiser event for The Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation.

Sun, Julie and BJ put together a fund raiser this evening to raise money for the $1,000.00 required to enter into the Walk to "Create Possibilities".  They hosted a fantastic evening which consisted of different forms of dance, along with an amazing light buffet of very yummy foods.  Cost per person Only $10.00.  The fund raiser was a SELL OUT !

Square Dancing, Tap Dancing, Violin Playing, Line Dancing and Belly Dancing there was ...

with Nina and Zumba also part of the fun.

Once each dance had been demonstrated everyone was invited to join in and the fun really broke out when everyone got up on the floor and joined in to try each out themselves.  Belly Dancing? yes you should try it, not as easy as maybe you would think, and muscles? yes you use lot !

I took over 300 photos for the girls, however I will send them along for their own use.  It was  a fun time, and should there be another next Year it is a fund raiser you won't want to miss out on.

Here it is 10:44 pm.  Rob had left out on a call, and I am more then ready for my bed, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Beauty Is ....

... all around us when you just take that brief moment or two to see it.

Today I took a brief few moments to look at the beauty right in our own yard.  You do not have to go far to find beauty as it surrounds us every second of our lives.  Sometimes we are just too busy to notice what we do have in our lives.

I try to be grateful for all things in my life, even though there are many times I forget to stop to see how much beauty really is in my Life, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Coconut Oil Benefits

Today was a weary day for me, but even more wearier for my Rob as he got home in the wee hours of the morning, and had to head back out for a whole day, just arriving back home a half hour ago.

Yesterday my friend and I had each purchased some Total Energy pills.  I hope they do not take long to start working, as I was actually ready for an afternoon nap today as I was so tired.  I know most of the fatigue is caused by the Fibromyalgia, but dang it all I would love to have more then one or two energy days a week.  The Coconut Oil?  I purchased that when I was down visiting the kids and made a trip into Costco.  I am putting a teaspoon a day in each of the dog's food dishes every morning.  I see it as a daily healthy prevention, to ensure good health, skin and coats, and it is all natural !

Benefits of Coconut Oil to your Dog may be found by "clicking" HERE.   Skin Treatment for your dog may be found by "clicking" HERE.

Benefits of Coconut Oil for Humans?  just *click* HERE, as there are many.

It was pretty grey and overcast most of the day, however after lunch the Sun did manage to show her face.

My front flower beds, which have been lovely each Year, have not gotten any of my attention yet.  Today I tackled of it, and hopefully will find more time soon to get at more so I can put up some photos of a lovely maintained flower bed.  My Clematis has been making a lovely show this past week.

Late this afternoon I had been downtown Wiarton when I received a phone call from my Sister, Jeanne, that they were down at the bay watching the Sailboats, would I come down to join them.  We decided to go to Blue Fish Red Fish for dinner.

Ha ! Jeanne expected me to take a photo and was ready for me, however Cecil was quite unaware.  The Haddock & Fries? they were very good.  One piece with fries only $8.99.  Jeanne & Cecil had the two piece for $12.99 and split it, both having as much as I had on my plate.  Very yummy.

I arrived home after Rob had after 8 pm.  I had stopped to get him a Sub Sandwich for his dinner.  He is now long gone to bed where I will shortly be joining him, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Bandit's Visit

I was very quiet this morning, trying my hardest to let Rob sleep.  He needs his sleep as he has been very busy between trying to get things done around here and working.

I headed out to Wiarton mid-morning to see a friend whose Mother-in-Law was having a Yard Sale today.

The only items I had bought at the Yard Sale was some homemade cookies my friend's young Grandson was selling to raise money for himself to contribute to a RSP.  This young man is 6 years old I believe !!!  Kudos to him.  Rob LOVED the cookies as anyone can tell by the photos.

When I had been up to see my Mother yesterday she had asked if I could find her a brooch, as her other one had broken.  It just so happened I had one put away for her.  Mid-afternoon my friend, Pari, and I went for a walk with Bandit stopping around to Gateway Haven to deliver the brooch to Mom.

Mom absolutely LOVED the brooch exclaiming it would go with anything she wore.

Bandit was such a perfect boy having a visit with Grandma.  Mom loved seeing him and made a big fuss over him.

Myself, Bandit and Pari had a great visit with Mom before we headed back to where I had parked the car.

Today I also stopped at the side of the roadway to take photos of the continuing outside progress of 330 Berford Street.

The front porch is in the process of being reconstructed, not quite as it had been originally however more to suit the present owner's wishes now.  I can not wait to see the finished results as I know it is going to "set off" the main entrance way to 330 Berford Street.

I had such a great energy day yesterday, I have no idea why I am feeling so exhausted again today.  Oh well it will be as it will be, and hopefully I will have a fitful sleep this evening to regenerate for another new day ahead, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

A Good Day

I was so tired last night I don't even remember anything after my head hit the pillow until I awoke before 6 am this morning.  I slept well, which I definitely needed.

I felt so good I got going pretty much right off the bat at some much needed and overdue housework.  Even though I did not get done what I had set out to do, I still managed to get some of the furniture moved and some of the floors washed, dusting done, and some more paperwork cleared away (why is there ALWAYS paperwork???).

I received this photo by text this morning.  How could this not start off anyone's day on the right foot?

Aiden, Chloe, Briar & Connor.

I had called my sister Jeanne also this morning to invite them to come up to have Dinner with us.  They arrived a bit earlier then dinner, but I still managed to get everything back somewhat in order to make us all lunch after Rob was done cutting the lawn(s).

After lunch Rob had to go out on a call while Jeanne, Cecil and I headed down to the Wiarton Farmer's Market.

As soon as we got back home Jeanne & Cecil headed for the comfort of the swing.

Good thing we had all arrived home when we had, Rob included, as a big truck pulled in with a delivery.  I am so EXCITED as our new Gazebo arrived today, even though goodness knows when it will get put up, it is still here !!!  .... and it is a hard top one so no more seams coming apart ... and it has a 3 year warranty too !

Late this afternoon Jeanne and I left Cecil relaxing in the rocker on the front stoop while we headed down to have a much overdue (on my part) visit with our Mother.

We had first stopped at Tim Hortons so I could get Mom a Coffee, as you can see she LOVES Tim Horton's coffee.  Then I  had her "wave" and say "hello" so I could text my Paul this photo of her, since he has always been Grandma's boy, and I do so every time I go visit her.

Jeanne was uncomfortable sitting on the side of Mom's bed so I gave up the chair for her and laid back and relaxed on Mom's bed, as you can tell by my feet, while having some laughs and carrying on with the two of them.  It had been a fun visit.  We had to leave when it was time for Mom to go down for her dinner.

Once back home I finished getting our Dinner of Ribs, Rice and Pork & Beans together.  Jeanne and Cecil left shortly after we were finished, as they were a bit weary themselves.

Oh yes I almost forgot ... I had been contacted by the Wiarton Echo, our local newpaper, asking if they could print one of my photos I took of the Tall Ships earlier this week.  It will be on the front page of next weeks edition of the Wiarton Echo.  I am flattered of course.

It has been a good day.

The dishes are done up, Rob has gone out on another call, and I am going to take care of our Aussies for the last time this day, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Grand Kids 101

I was awake at 2:30 am, but my day really didn't get going until 8:30 am when I set out to do 5 km today.  5 km I didn't have to do by myself as it was spend with five kids & a dog.

Grand Kids 101 !!!  and Missy Mercedes.

Lunch & drinks packed in the cooler bag and off we went down the street to the Arbortum  where all five kids headed off to their most favourite tree, while Missy Mercedes enjoyed life under another tree close by, while I looked on.

Josh, Chloe, Aiden, Briar & Connor, doing what they do best ... having fun !

I love when I get photos of the Grand Kids when they are unaware I am taking their picture.

After some tree time, we headed towards downtown New Hamburg to the Old Feed Mill site beside the Nith River.

We had the perfect weather day.

Tree climbing and walking took lots of energy so we had an early lunch.  After peanut butter jam sandwiches, veggie sticks, cookies and a drink we headed down by the river where a la' natural food was made by pulling "seaweed" from the river or other natural substances from its surroundings.  Some river a la carte anybody???

The photos say it all, do they not?

On our trek home when crossing back over the bridge we happily came across Mr. Blue Heron.  He was seemingly as curious about us as we were about him.

We had an amazing four hours spent together out and about town today.  I was so fortunate Josh was with us, as he was such a champ giving everyone rides in the wagon the whole way there and back.  The last street heading home Chloe and Aiden actually gave Josh a ride back to the house.  I was happy I brought the red wagon along with me as it came in very handy for the two 7 year olds, Briar and Connor.

I headed back home today at 3:30 pm, arriving back home at 6:00 pm.  I was way too tired to even think about making Dinner, so Rob and I grabbed a quick sandwich down at Tim Hortons.

I am pretty tired but every moment spent Grand Kids 101 the past 24 hours was well worth it.  Hopefully tonight I will get a full night's sleep, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
